The AGM of the Clans of Ireland will take place in the seminar room at the National Library of Ireland on Wednesday, March 18th, 2009.

The Clans of Ireland have worked with the St. Patrick’s Festival, the Archdiocese of Dublin and the Lord Mayor’s Office to co-ordinate the timing of its AGM to coincide with the main events of the St. Patrick’s Festival in the hope that this will facilitate those travelling to the AGM from outside of Ireland to participate in the many Festival events.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Eibhlin Byrne will officially open the AGM.  This will be followed by two lectures.  Karel Kiely, Secretary of the Irish Family History Foundation and genealogist with Kildare County Council, will speak about the work of the IFHF member centres on the island of Ireland and the Online Research Service which has been developed.  This lecture will start at 5.30pm.  It will be followed by a lecture entitled An Irish Clan Y-DNA Project case Study by Dr. Lórcan Flannery.

The AGM will then be held.
